Paris is the city of love...

Paris is the city of love... Paris is the city of romanticism... Actually going to Paris is not right without your partner. But I went. And I will go again as soon as possible with a special someone..

I stayed in Paris for six days and every day was great for me and it wasn’t enough time.

On the first day, I walked around the Latine quarter ( quartier latin) because I had chosen a hotel in this area. I saw the Pantheon cathedral, the Sorbonne University, St.Severin church, St.Sulphice cathedral, St.Michel Boulevard, the Garden of Luxembourg, the Palace of Luxembourg. This day, the Pantheon affected me the most, because this cathedral is huge and glorious. And most important; graves of many famous French people are incrypted under the cathedral. For example; Voltaire, Victor Hugo, Marie and Pierre Curie, J-J Rousseau and Emilie Zola. I was lucky because the weather was dry. Sometimes it was below zero in the evening. For this reason I walked for hours. I was exhausted by the end of the day. I choose Italian restaurant this evening because it was near my hotel. I drank a very delicious red wine called valpolicella from Venice, Italy. It was superb. This restaurant’s name was Di Formaggi in St.Michel Boulevard.

On the second day, I woke up early because I wanted to go to the Louvre Museum. This museum opens at 9.00 am. And I was in front of the museum at 9.00 am on the dot. I had seen a few museums before but the Louvre was quite different. It is filled with a wide variety of works of art. And this work of art was diversified that is paintings, sculptures, oriental antiquities and valuable object. Especially I liked Mona Lisa, The Raft of the Medusa, The Dying Slave, Aphrodite known as Venus de Milo, Tomb of Philippe Pot and Horses of Marly. The most important thing was that photos could be taken free charge. I spent around 5 hours in the museum. After visit to the Louvre, I went to Museum D’orsay, but unfortunately I didn’t know that every Monday this museum is closed. And then I went to Military Musseum and the Dome Cathedral. Dome is very important because of Napoleon’s grave. The cathedral dome is gold and huge. The view was breath taking. Grave of Napoleon was under the cathedral, and it was very interesting. Napoleon wished everyone to bow in front of his grave after he died. For this reason his grave was below floor level. Then I went to the Museum of Rodin, but this day it was closed for a special event. I was exhausted by the end of the day but I had a nice day and it had been worth every minute.

On the third day, I walked along the Seine river to the Eiffel Tower. Especially choose this way because I could see a lot of places and areas across and along the Seine River. For example, the Grand Palace, the Petit Palace, Assemble National Palace, Trocadero. And I saw the place where Lady Diana died. This place was very tragic. Some people put fresh flowers and poems there every day. Some days candles burn. And then when I reached Trocadero, I saw Eiffel Tower.

It was amazing, it was unbelievable. It was huge and magical. I queued up to get to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Luckily the line was not long. I only waited max.15 minutes. When I got to the top of the Eiffel tower, the view was gorgeous. Because I could see all Paris. I was lucky again because the weather was very clear. I spent around 1-1.5 hours in the tower. It was amazing. So I went back to the hotel and I rested a little bit. J I went to the Entrecote restaurant this evening. This restaurant is very famous in Paris. Sometimes you have to wait in line. But I didn’t wait because of time was early. I ate a gorgeous meat with a special sauce, fried potatoes and red wine. This food is the best food in my entire life. After dinner, I walked in Champ-Elysees street. This street is a very famous in Paris, even in the world.

On the fourth day, I went to the Notre-Dame Cathedral. This cathedral is a Gothic cathedral in Ile de la City area. Also this cathedral is very famous because of a story written by Victor Hugo. And for this reason I was curious about the cathedral and when I saw this cathedral I loved it. I felt, as if I had lived or I had been to in this cathedral before. I saw the huge bell in the top of the cathedral and mural paintings inside. For example, there was a mural of The Last Supper. Also it had sculptures and stained glass. I think, there wasn’t any place that I liked this much.

Then I went to Saint Chapelle church. This church consists of two floors. The first floor was for public, the upper floor was for aristocrat icy people. Generally the churches of Paris or France consist of same sitiutaion. This church is famous for stain glass windows. Then I went to Conciergerie which used to be a prison in Paris before time. A lot of famous people were jailed in this building. The most famous prisoner was Marie-Antoinette. After I went to Sacre-Coeur Basilica. The basilica is located at the summit of the Montmartre and is the highest point in the city. And for this reason this basilica is as popular of landmark in Paris as the Eiffel Tower. I went to the highest point in this basilica too..

During my holiday, I always went to the highest point, like a Norte Dame, Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe Etoile, Tour Montparnesse. Anyways I liked this basilica very much. The hill of painters was behind the basilica. Painters hill also called Lovers hill. I loved this point. I wanted o have my face painted but it was very expensive. After I saw the Moulin Rouge. This club is very famous in Paris. Special shows are there but I couldn’t go there because of the price. Then I walked to the Opera. The Opera building was brilliant. This evening I tasted something different. I ate mussels with garlic, cheese and tomato. It was very delicious. I am unable to forget the delicious flavor of a food.

On the fifth day, I went to La Defense. La Defense is a major business area in this city. It has a Grand Arche which is around 100 meters tall. This district starts at the Louvre Central Paris and continues along the Champs-Élysées, well beyond the Arc de Triomphe before culminating at La Défense. I liked this area, I walked around shopping center in this district and I bought couple of bottles of red wine from the supermarket. I spent 4 hours there. After I went to Grand Palace, Petit Palace and Elysees Palace where Sarkozy and his wife are living. And then I went back to my hotel and I rested. In the evening, I went to an Entrecote restaurant again, because I was unable to forget the delicious flavor of food too. But this time I choose a different restaurant which is closer my hotel.

On the last day, I went to Beauborg and Les Halles district. This district was very calm, chic and quiet. I liked this area and I saw the Centre Pompidou. It was designed in the style of high-tech architecture. All of the functional structural elements of the building are outside and color-coded. For example, green pipes are plumbing, blue pipes are climate control, yellow pipes are electrical system, red pipes are devices of safety. It was a very interesting building. And then I saw the St.Merry Church which was a nice building. This day I bought somegifts. Finally in Paris I went to a Chinese restaurant. These foods were different and interesting. I ate noodles ( Chinese spaghetti ) with an omelet. I didn’t like this meal. But at least I tried it. And I returned to my hotel and I took my luggage and went to the airport.

The end of my vacation, I decided that this vacation is the best vacation in my life. I hope, I will experience such a gorgeous time again…
